On behalf of the children and staff, I would like to welcome you to St Luke’s Primary School. We hope you find our website clear, informative and easy to navigate. It is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school, the work of our pupils and the quality education we strive to deliver. Parents at St Luke's describe our atmosphere as respectful and nurturing.
While it is my priority that the education your child receives here with us will enable them to achieve their academic potential and progress confidently into the next phase of their education, it is also part of my vision that all our children are filled with positive experiences, that they are aware of the endless possibilities that await them and that they are nurtured in order to develop within them, a confidence to embrace whatever comes their way. Underpinning the above, is my relentless commitment to ensuring that the children of St Luke’s Primary School possess the values that enable them to live well in society and prepares them to deal effectively with the challenges that the modern world presents.
All of our staff share this vision and recognise children as unique individuals with specific talents and needs. They work tirelessly to provide a varied and engaging curriculum and a positive school experience. You’ll find our classrooms to be hives of activity and full of creativity and learning, making St Luke’s a special place indeed for children. Our aim is to create a lifelong love of learning in every child.
Ours is a caring school where the children are warmly received and encouraged throughout their time with us to ‘aim high’, fulfil their potential and engage with all the opportunities the school has to offer. We firmly believe that for this to be best achieved we must establish a genuine partnership between home and school. We pride ourselves on open communication, so if you have any questions or comments regarding the website or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact either your child’s class teacher, one of our Phase Leaders, Mrs Hepworth (Deputy Headteacher) or myself.
If you would like to know more about our school, you are very welcome to come and visit. The children of St Luke’s very much enjoy talking about and sharing their achievements and our successes. Meetings for prospective parents who would like to learn more about our school are held by appointment. Please contact the school office if you would like a tour of the school.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to St Luke’s Primary School.
Mr Adam Turner
Headteacher
