Important information re: Nursery emailed home today!

Temporary class closure for pupils due to staffing absence.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Temporary class closure for pupils

Nursery Class

I am writing to inform you that I have today had to make the difficult decision to arrange for Nursery to work from home for the last week of this term (14th – 18th December). This decision is a result of a high number of our support staff being absent.

Your child is in one of the groups that are affected by the enforced need to temporarily close, so I write to confirm how this will work.

Teachers will confirm the key learning for the week on 14th December in school and online learning will be made available to support your child to work from home, via the See Saw app while they are working remotely from home.

We will continue to monitor staff levels daily, and I will update you should the dates that I have included here need to change.  This is a fast-moving situation with new information emerging each day.  Our key focus remains to ensure that all our pupils are able to learn safely and effectively in school.  Unfortunately, the high level of staff absence at this unprecedented time for the Island has impacted our school.  Teachers and support staff will continue to work from home, and we will manage our remaining staff to ensure that the impact on any one group or individual is kept to the minimum.

Further public health information on COVID-19 is available at www.gov.je/health/coronavirus/Pages/Index.aspx/

Please monitor your texts/emails and/or our school website for any updates, and we will look forward to returning to full class attendance when staffing levels return to normal.

Thank you for your understanding.
