Here is a photo of Hannah in role as Chingis from our book 'The Unforgotten Coat'. She is deciding what to do at a crucial moment in the story where she has ran away from school. In our conscience alley, advice was whispered by each pupil to help her decide what to do.
Here is a photo of Dan in role holding the book we are reading. We have been writing our own diaries from different character's perspectives and we hot-seated and interviewed Chingis, a Mongolian refugee.
In groups, we made a 'zone of relevance' and used a thesaurus to find the most interesting, powerful words to describe Chingis's feelings. We put the most relevant words in the centre of the target and others further away from the centre. We used these words in our diary entries.
